Tips and Tricks to Subtitled Series
Hello,
For those who are thinking of making your own subtitled series, or just want to see ways to improve your strategies; You've come to the correct place.
Here are points and tips I find very important in making a subtitled series.
1) Make sure you subtitles are displayed long enough for someone to read at basic tempo; not everyone is a speedy reader. So make it neutral.
2) See to it that you can actually read it; change the color if your original color becomes hard to see with the shot behind it.
3) Have it time well with what is going on in scene.
4) Not too fancy of font; something simple and professional. You won't see fancy font in movie subtitles, so you shouldn't see it here.
5) Try not to lag on your shot too long just to fit all the words to read, try separating long paragraphs. If they're too long, the person may feel rushed to read it, not knowing if they can read it all in time.
6) Fix all spelling and punctuation errors before you render it. No-one likes to see a misspelled word or improper use of a coma or capitalization.I know I hate seeing it; it just shows laziness. If you're in doubt of spelling, look it up.
If you follow all of these tips, Everyone is happy and it just looks better professionally!
